Founded by Debbie Jones in 1980 to help support her family and put her kids through college, Essence Cleaning has become a fixture in Lapeer, MI, and the surrounding community. More than 40 years after making its first house call, Essence is now a full-service cleaning company serving business and residential customers across Southeast Michigan.

While Essence is still managed by Debbie, the company is now co-owned with her husband, Greg, who retired from his engineering job with General Motors in 2009.
When Debbie started the company, she was inspired by her parents, who taught her to love whatever she did and take pride in her work. She found cleaning work to be very gratifying and developed a fondness for developing new relationships with her customers.
While Essence was founded as a residential cleaning company, it branched into the commercial market with the same work ethic that fueled its early success and now it's working with schools, offices, churches, dealerships, construction companies, and others. The company’s growth has been completely organic, fueled by word-of-mouth advertising from happy customers who value their commitment to providing the highest quality of work for the most affordable price.
